PeopleFirst Clinic offers therapist-led groups where children, teens, and young adults can connect with peers, strengthen practical skills, and receive support in an inclusive and welcoming environment.
Group therapy can help participants recognize that they are not alone in their experiences. Each session provides opportunities to learn, practice real-life skills, build confidence, and develop meaningful connections with others.
Our Therapy Groups
Elementary School Group
Tuesdays | 4:45 PM-5:45 PM
A supportive and engaging group where children can:

Practice emotional regulation

Strengthen friendship and social skills

Build self-confidence

Develop healthy coping strategies

Improve communication and problem-solving
Group placement: All sixth- and seventh-grade participants will join the Elementary School Group.
High School Group
Tuesdays | 5:45 PM-6:45 PM
A therapist-led group focused on helping teens:

Navigate stress and anxiety

Develop greater self-confidence

Strengthen communication skills

Build healthy relationships
-
Connect with peers facing similar experiences
Group placement: All eighth-grade participants will join the High School Group.
Young Adult Neurodivergent Support Group
Ages 18-30 | Wednesdays | 12:00 PM
A welcoming space for neurodivergent young adults to connect with peers and build practical skills for everyday life.
Group topics may include:

Independent living

Managing stress and responsibilities

Building confidence and community

Group therapy is designed to supplement, rather than replace, individual or family therapy. Participants are encouraged to continue meeting with their individual or family therapist whenever clinically appropriate.

Before joining a group, you'll need to meet individually with Amy Hurla so she can get to know you, learn about your goals, and help ensure the group is a good fit for everyone.

Who Leads the Groups?
All groups are led by Amy Hurla, LMFT, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who works with children, adults, and families. Amy Hurla, LMFT uses a collaborative, practical, and strengths-focused approach to help participants feel heard, supported, and understood.
The individual meeting before group participation gives Amy Hurla, LMFT an opportunity to:

Insurance and Cost Information
The standard fee is typically $100 per group session, plus Interactive Complexity, CPT code 90785, at $40 when applicable.
Many insurance plans cover group therapy, and participants may have little to no out-of-pocket expense. However, coverage, deductibles, coinsurance, and copayments vary by insurance plan.
